The new round of master school organized by Documentary Campus started in Sheffield on the 6th of June, five days before the actual documentary film festival kicked off and the city got filled with film folks from around the world. Our project was among 15 exciting non-fiction projects that were selected to the renown series of documentary film development workshops this year. After months of maternity leave it was great to dedicate several days to documentary film production related studies and coaching. The first of four workshops concentrated on storytelling – each project was discussed three times for 45 minutes among experts and peers which resulted in great leaps forward for most of the documentary film projects. We were also given enlightening lectures on the use of archives, budgeting, trailer editing and treatment writing. The week was also an amazing opportunity to meet colleagues and make new friends. The next work shop will take place in Cyprus in the beginning of August!
